What time of day should we schedule the photo shoot? |
If you are on the South or West Shore, mornings are best. If you are on the East or North Shore, afternoons are best. We are in tune with the weather patterns and predictions which help us to assess the best day and time of day to photograph your property. However, we are not responsible for vog, smog, cane burning, or other factors such as this. If these conditions are apparent on the day of filming, please call us at least 1 hour before your appointment to reschedule.
|
What should I do to prepare for a photo shoot? |
The best thing you can do is eliminate clutter. Cleaning windows and dusting is not as critical as properly "staging" your home. Staging can be done yourself, or you can hire a professional .
|
How much time does it take to film a video or virtual tour? |
This depends on the size of the property and the package you are purchasing. Generally, it takes about 1 to 2 hours for a basic package. A Big Kahuna package with video can take 3 to 4 hours.
|
How long will it take to receive the finished product? |
Currently we have been providing the virtual tours and photos between 24 to 48 hours. Videos take about 3 to 4 days hours to go on-line.
|
Can I get my video on DVD? |
We upload videos onto our website, and we include a copy on DVD at no extra charge. Additional copies of your video can be burned at $35 each. Remember, your video can be accessed from the internet from any computer worldwide.
|
Can I get my virtual tour on DVD? |
Yes, we can burn a high-resolution full-screen version of virtual tours on DVD for an extra charge. Please make this special request prior to filming the property.
|
Do MacIntosh or Apple users need a special format? |
No, all of our media displays equally superb on Macintosh and Windows computers
|
I already have a webpage. How do I get the videos or virtual tours on there? |
The easiest and most common thing people do is to link to our page. However, you or your webmaster are free to embed some or all of our media on your webpage. The videos can be sent to you in any format you wish. Please note, however, that the virtual tours must be hosted on Maui Zoom's servers because it requires the supporting software.
|
How do I get the most out of advertising using your media? |
Our services are not meant to eliminate printed advertising, but to enhance it. When you run newpaper or magazine ads, be sure to include the webpage we create for you. However, you do NOT need to use the http:// portion of the website, simply www.mauizoom.com/506omaopio is sufficient. The reason is because most web browsers already include the http:// portion of webpages as a hidden default.
|
How do I link the video or tours to MLS? |
Remember, all of our tours and videos come with its own webpage with a name that is short & easy to remember. In MLS/Paragon, you go into Listings, Maintain Listing, Virtual Tour. In this case, you DO need to insert http:// because you are within MLS which needs the code to make the page clickable. Here you punch in the webpage we created for you, i.e. http://www.mauizoom.com/kaimalu1b
|
Are the tours MLS compliant? |
We verified with the Realtors Association of Maui (RAM) that our virtual tour and video webpages are compliant with their rules. This means nowhere in the tour, video, or the property webpage can there be listing agent information.
While we do have a Realtors page, there are no links to the realtor’s personal websites.
|
How do you come up with a website name for each property? |
For houses or land, we use the street address. For condominiums, we use the project name and unit number. We believe this technique makes it easy to remember and shows nicely on printed advertising, websites, e-mails, and signs.
We purposely do not use MLS numbers because 1) they date the listing since the numbers are issued chronologically; 2) they are hard to remember; 3) they can change; 4) often times realtors have us film before inputting into MLS; and 5) if a property is a vacation rental or FSBO, there would be no MLS number.
We also structure our websites so using the extension .html or /index.html is uncessary. This shortens the webpage name and again makes it easy to remember and use in other advertising.
Example: www.mauizoom.com/seahorseranch
